Back Home, Houses Are Burning

In Paris, are we.
No fire here,
Paris is not burning
the emergency vehicle

in the distance
sounding it's
ohh wee  ohh wee
is benign

almost pleasant
more like music
than the constant
refrain of

woods burning
houses burning
make way for the
red trucks

  1. I wrote this i the summer of 2012, during the wildfires in Colorado. The fires were still raging.
